Fietsleasing is an explainer animation created for Provincie Antwerpen to encourage employees to choose bicycle leasing over commuting by car. The animation brings together the health, environmental and financial benefits of cycling to work in a short and accessible story.
Working within the Shtick team, I contributed to the visual development of the animation, translating the narrative into a storyboard and developing the illustrations used throughout the film.
The animation uses an isometric illustration style to create a consistent visual world while keeping the scenes clear and efficient to animate. The result is a concise explainer that combines illustration, information and animation to make the benefits of bicycle leasing easy to understand.
01 — THE CHALLENGE
Provincie Antwerpen wanted to encourage its employees to consider bicycle leasing as an alternative to commuting by car. The challenge was to communicate a range of practical, financial, health and environmental benefits without turning the animation into a dry list of information.
The message needed to be clear and accessible, while still feeling engaging and relevant to an adult audience.
02 — THE APPROACH
We translated the information into a simple narrative, using everyday situations to make the different benefits of bicycle leasing tangible. I developed the storyboard and illustrated the scenes in an isometric style, creating a consistent visual world that could move naturally from one situation to the next.
The visual language was deliberately professional and approachable, avoiding the overly playful style often associated with cycling campaigns.
03 — THE SOLUTION
The final animation combines illustrated characters, environments and information graphics to guide viewers through the different advantages of bicycle leasing. The isometric perspective gives the animation depth while keeping the compositions clear and easy to follow.
The result is a concise visual explanation that turns practical information into an engaging story.
