Nationale Loterij - Character design

While working at These Days, I had the opportunity to work for one of their biggest clients, the Belgian National Lottery. The client was going to launch their new website and needed to announce the big change. These Days came up with the idea to use the characters that are featured in several e-games of the Nationale Loterij online platform such as the Bingo Magico rabbit and the viking from King of Cash. The client also wanted to see new characters that would represent their main chance and scratch-card games such as Lotto, WinforLife and Euromillions. These characters would not only come to life onto the new website, but also on the Facebook page of de Nationale Loterij and several banners. The characters that would play the biggest roles would be the one of Lotto (the red lotto ball) and Euromillions (a smiling star).

I wanted to show the character of Lotto as an energetic and enthusiastic red lotto ball who wants help prepare the website for the big change. Together with all his friends (Bingo Magico Rabbit, the Viking, the Winforlife character and the Euromillions star) he paints different banners and webpages blue. When the site is finally done, he encourages the viewers to check out the new website.
